Shashikant Lahade earned his B.E. and M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Amravati University, India. He then taught undergraduate courses in the same field at Nagpur University and later pursued an M.S. in Electrical Engineering at Florida International University, Miami, focusing on wearable electrochemical sensors development.
In the Summer of 2021, he joined the University of Notre Dame for his Ph.D., focusing on developing a CMOS ASIC-based wearable frequency-domain near-infrared spectroscopy (FD-NIRS) system. His research aims to create a miniaturized, comfortable device for remote monitoring in real-world settings, such as exercise physiology and telemedicine. He is also working on a wearable fiber-free high-density FD-NIRS array with potential applications in diffuse optical tomography.
